Doing business in the UK has always been a very interesting and rewarding challenge for many entrepreneurs. The UK stands as one of the largest economies in the world and a country that is of great ease in conducting business. If you already have exposure to and experience in doing business, the Innovator visa may well be an ideal option to kick start your business in the UK.

Eligibility

The Innovator visa is aimed at those with a proven track record of running successful businesses. The business idea would need to be supported by authorities such as business accelerators, higher education providers, seed funding competition, or government agencies.

The capital needed to start the business must be a minimum of £50,000 unless you are upgrading from a start-up visa in which case you may be exempt. You must also pass the English Language test at Level B2 and have £945 in your account for at least 90 days prior to applying.

The business plan must first be approved by the relevant endorsing body after which the formal application will be made. If the UKVI at this point require further information, you may even be called for an interview

ILR

This route sets you on track to achieve ILR status. This may be obtained after living and working in the UK for a period of 3 years. A Life in the UK test is mandatory to pass to proceed with your ILR application.
